Stars Divine is (since God knows when) a solo effort based in Torshavn, Faroe Islands – a place in the middle of the weather battered North Atlantic Ocean. Stars Divine is the work of Andreas Weihe Madsen – a guitar player, singer and songwriter. He works from his home studio, Oceania Sounds, and is occasionally joined by a friend on some tracks.
Not much is known about SD – as he tends to shy away from live audiences and promotional activities. However, he has probably played music since the age of thirteen – initially a trumpet player then drummer, turned guitar player and songwriter. SD was one of the founding members of Grace of Decay (out on Tutl Records www.tutl.com ) but he left the project due to relocating to the Faroe Islands.
In 2008ish, he was with Halltórur Dam in a duo project called Lost In France, who were a rock, alt. country thing.
Stars Divine is occasionally putting out indie rock – so stay tuned for more. SD is now out with two singles: 'The Recluse' and a cover-lead single ”Heroes”. The first is a collaboration – or a reunion – with aforementioned Halltórur Dam.
The Recluse is recorded in Oceania Sounds – the music is written, performed, recorded and produced by Andreas/SD. The lyrics are by Halltórur who does the lead vocal.
”Heroes” is SD solo – it's a David Bowie cover and it's dedicated to Andreas' wife.
The tracks will also be released on 7” 45rpm vinyl single and will be available in the Tutl shop and here on tutl.com.
The vinyl single and the digital stream version has been mastered by Mercury Studios, USA and pressed at Nordsø Records, Denmark.
